Obama quotes
"I do think there is constructive work being done." - Obama's response when asked whether he intends to vote for a rescue plan taking shape in Congress.
"We did not set up a 21st century regulatory framework to deal with these problems. And that in part has to do with an economic philosophy that says that regulation is always bad." - Obama on the financial crisis.
"You said we would be greeted as liberators, and you were wrong." - Obama on McCain's support for the war in Iraq.
"This notion that by not talking to people we are punishing them - it doesn't work." - Obama on the need to broaden diplomatic efforts.
McCain quotes
"I hope so." - McCain's response when asked whether he intends to vote for a rescue plan taking shape in Congress.
"Sen. Obama has the most liberal voting record in the United States Senate. It's hard to reach across the aisle when you're that far to the left." - McCain contrasting his record of bipartisanship with Obama's.
